The ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and the record levels of the energy prices in the last two years drove the world to a multi-faceted crisis and Europe to a new energy landscape. Romania has a strategic role to play in the region and can serve as a positive narrative for neighborhood countries. Renewable energy has a key role in decarbonizing Romania’s energy system, the authorities announcing a strengthening of the renewable energy target in the updated NECP to reflect the more ambitious EU climate and energy targets (Fit for 55 Package and REPowerEU Plan). Clean energy production, based on the deployment of renewables and green hydrogen, combined with the phasing-out of coal and lignite power production makes up a sizable component of Romania’s RRP.
For all these, we need a clear path in front, and the Code for Good Practice for Renewable Energy in Romania, 2023, comes just in time! The official paper initiated by RWEA & RPIA and conducted by professionals in the fields of energy, technology, legal, puts all the relevant information about the renewable industry in the current global and national context, mapping the existing and the future renewable projects, analyzing the regulatory framework, showing the financing opportunities, the technologies of the future and the workforce market and highlighting good practice examples.
RWEA and RPIA have great pleasure in inviting you to join them in Bucharest for the Code for Good Practice for Renewable Energy in Romania launch event, on September 21th 2023. Government officials, stakeholders, prominent personalities from European Wind and Solar associations will come together for an overview of the industry and for new ideas and thoughts on how to move forward in tackling the challenges ahead.
